Meet The Team Providing Your Private Healthcare

Dr Nicholas Hillier, Medical Director and Lead GP

Dr Nicholas Hillier MA(Cantab) MBBS MRCGP DRANZCOG DOccMed studied medicine at Cambridge University (Gonville and Caius) and University College London. He is an experienced doctor, having practised in multiple areas of medicine since 2001 in both the UK and Australia, including a rather thrilling year working as a Royal Flying Doctor. Dr Hillier is consistently well regarded and much sought after by patients.

With three generations of doctors in Dr Hillier’s family, medicine is firmly in his genes. Dr Hillier grew up near Bishop’s Waltham, and has settled back to the area; he is delighted to be able to bring Private GP Services to his fellow locals in Winchester and Hampshire. Dr Hillier’s passion is the great outdoors, in particular remote wilderness. He has combined his interests in providing medical support to expeditions in Central America (Belize) and Indonesia. Back home (where he now has more sober responsibilities in the form of two young children!), he enjoys all aspects of horticulture and nature.


Dr Dagny Fowler, GP

Dr Dagny Fowler BM BSc MCEM MRCGP studied medicine at the University of Southampton and spent many years as an Accident & Emergency specialist, developing detailed skills across all areas of medicine. She then elected to bring this skillset to the area of General Practice. 

Dr Fowler is dedicated to providing high quality, truly patient centred care that is flexible, expedient and meets patient’s needs. She is particularly interested in the importance of communication skills within the consultation setting and is currently working towards a Transformational Coaching Diploma.

In her spare time, Dr Fowler enjoys spending time with her young family, cooking, growing vegetables in her garden and swimming.


Dr Nathir Athaullah (Dr Nat), GP – Branch Surgery

Dr Nathir Athaullah BSc MBBS MRCGP studied medicine at Imperial College, London. A highly respected and very experienced GP, Dr Nat has a specialist interest in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. He also enjoys Minor Surgery, practice leadership/management and takes a keen interest in problems of the musculoskeletal system.

Dr Nat combines his many years of GP experience with a friendly and thorough approach in order to achieve the best possible health outcomes for patients.When not working, Dr Nat enjoys spending time with his two young children, playing and watching football, cricket and golf, attending the gym, keeping up with current affairs and playing chess.


Dr Karen Liu, GP – Branch Surgery

Dr Karen Liu BM MRCGP DFSRH FRNZCGP studied medicine at the University of Southampton and has spent many years working as a GP in New Zealand.

Highly experienced in all areas of general practice, Dr Liu believes in taking the time to listen carefully to patients. She enjoys providing continuity of care and a high quality, holistic GP service in which she works alongside patients to achieve the best health outcomes.

Dr Liu has a particular interest in evidence-based Lifestyle Medicine and is currently working towards the Lifestyle Medicine Diploma. Lifestyle Medicine is an evidence-based discipline which aims to support patients to prevent, manage and reverse certain chronic conditions, using supported behaviour change skills and techniques to create, and sustain lifestyle changes.

In her spare time, Dr Liu enjoys outdoor activities, art and playing the cello and the piano.


Dr Alwin Hoelzl

Dr Alwin Hoelzl, GP

Dr Alwin Hoelzl MRCGP FRACGP studied medicine in Munich, Germany, before going on to undertake postgraduate training and gain his GP qualification in the UK. He has spent many years as a GP Principal providing rural and remote GP medicine in both Scotland and Australia, as well as being a GP Partner in Germany.

With over 15 years of GP experience, Dr Hoelzl particularly enjoys acute and chronic disease management, travel medicine and providing continuity of care for patients.

Outside of work, Dr Hoelzl enjoys spending time with family and following American football and baseball.


Dr Olivia Buckley

Dr Olivia Buckley, GP

Dr Olivia Buckley MBBS BSc MRCGP DCH DRCOG studied medicine at Imperial College, London. She also holds a first class honours degree in Immunobiology. Experienced in all aspects of general practice, Dr Buckley’s specialist areas of interest are Child Health and Women’s Health.

Dr Buckley takes a compassionate, holistic approach to general practice and particularly enjoys providing support with children’s and women’s health.

Dr Buckley has two young children and is a keen musician and tennis player.


Dr Sharon Rachman, GP

Dr Sharon Rachman MBChB, MRCGP, DRCOG, DFFP studied medicine at Cape Town University in South Africa before completing her GP training in the UK. Dr Rachman has carefully built her medical expertise through practising in a wide variety of medical specialties since 1994. Most recently she has spent 11 years as a GP at Twyford Surgery.

Very knowledgeable in all areas of general practice, Dr Rachman has a particular interest in Women’s Health. She is highly regarded by her patients, and greatly values the relationship building and continuity of care which private practise allows.

When she is not running for fitness, Dr Rachman is running after her two teenage sons. She also enjoys reading and travelling.


Dr Sinéad Doherty, Business Director

Dr Sinéad Doherty MA(Cantab) MBBS studied medicine at Cambridge University and University College London. Having practised in multiple areas of hospital medicine, Dr Doherty became increasingly interested in the business aspects of the profession. She elected to move into corporate fundraising for medical causes, working in both Australia and London with businesses ranging from small local companies to large multinationals. Her extensive experience has been gained from across the medical, charitable and corporate sectors.

Dr Doherty sets high standards and is a firm believer in outstanding customer service.

In her spare time, Dr Doherty enjoys running, hiking, travelling and singing alto in choirs.


Angela Ward, Practice Manager

Angela Ward qualified in Leadership and Management from the Institute of Learning and Management. She has over 10 years’ experience of managing private dental practices, during which time her achievements included gaining the CODE Quality Practice Scheme Certificate. Having also worked in the IT, not-for-profit, sales and marketing sectors, Angela brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role.

Outside of work, Angela enjoys baking, reading, travelling and spending time with her family.


Kate Tuttle

Kate Tuttle, HR Manager

Kate Tuttle has over 20 years experience in Lead HR roles across a broad range of sectors including health, care, education and housing. She holds a Level 5 CIPD Diploma in Personnel and Management

At The Walcote Practice, Kate manages all areas relating to HR and ensures that a healthy, happy, supportive team, and working environment, are maintained and fostered as the Practice continues to grow.

When not at work Kate enjoys art and painting, trips to the theatre and spending time with family, friends and her dog.


Amy Pope, Compliance & Branch Manager

Amy Pope has spent over 10 years working in healthcare and has many years’ experience managing multiple dental practices. 

At The Walcote Practice, Amy is responsible for overseeing Practice compliance with all regulatory standards, ensuring high quality service delivery to patients and driving continuous improvement throughout all areas. Alongside this, she manages the branch surgery of The Walcote Practice and ensures its smooth, safe, effective operation. 

In her spare time, Amy enjoys swimming, dog walking and visiting the beach.


Carmen Godfrey, Senior Practice Administrator

Carmen Godfrey enthusiastically oversees multiple areas of practice administration, ensuring that The Walcote Practice continually offers outstanding, efficient and reliable customer service to all patients.

Carmen has many years of experience working within a variety of administrative roles, as well as in healthcare. Carmen holds qualifications in both Business Administration and Clinical Healthcare.

Outside of work, Carmen enjoys reading, music, bootcamp fitness and spending time with her family.


Chloe Biddlecombe

Chloe Biddlecombe, Practice Administrator

Chloe Biddlecombe has a strong background in administration and office management across a variety of healthcare settings, including her own former wellness practice.

Chloe provides medical administration support to The Walcote Practice team, and ensures that patients are supported to have a smooth healthcare journey when external referrals are required.

When not working, Chloe enjoys country life, walking in her wellies, sewing and looking after her two children.
