The Walcote Practice survives our first Winchester Half Marathon!
Dr’s Nicholas Hillier and Sinead Doherty are delighted to have managed to finish and survive their very first Winchester Half Marathon on Sunday 24th September 2017!
Covering a greater distance than our typical training runs, the famously hilly and scenic half marathon route most certainly presented a formidable challenge. Nevertheless, our spirits were lifted and legs spurred on by the fantastic support and encouragement from race marshals, volunteers and members of the public throughout the course.
We would like to say a big thank you to the race organisers for putting together such a well-organised and enjoyable local event…including arranging perfect running weather!
We would encourage any patients or readers who are interested in running to add this to their list of potential races – it really is a great event. By starting with slow training and building over a period of time up to the day, you might be surprised by how fit and healthy you start to feel.
Oh, and just a heads up for any patients visiting the The Walcote Practice in the next few days – you may notice that Dr Hillier is moving around a little slower than usual – don’t worry he’ll be zipping about again soon!
