Offshore Energy Medicals – OEUK (formerly OGUK)
Offshore Energy UK (OEUK, formerly OGUK) accredited medicals are provided by Dr Nicholas Hillier and Dr Nat Attaullah at both our main and branch surgeries. The branch surgery has on-site parking available.
Appointments are generally available within 48 hours. Please bring a list of any medication/s, your glasses or contact lenses and any relevant past medical history, summary documents and/ or previous certification.
The medical take around 40 minutes. It comprises a comprehensive history, examinations, including but not limited to height, weight, blood pressure, urine analysis and general systems, audiometry (hearing assessment) and spirometry (lung function testing). If uncomplicated, valid certification is issued at the end of the medical.
Should you have any specific requirements such as fitness to train in CA-EBS exercises, food handling, crane operator or emergency response team duties, please discuss these with reception at the time of booking your appointment. This will ensure that sufficient appointment time is allocated.
The usual duration of certification is two years, unless there are medical reasons which dictate that a shorter period is necessary. By mutual agreement with Norway and the Netherlands, a standard unlimited UK OEUK certificate will be accepted in these countries. However, certificates limited by location are not accepted by foreign jurisdictions.
The fee for a standard OEUK medical, including fitness to train, can be found in the ‘Medicals & Reports’ section here. More detailed assessments for specific roles may incur additional costs.
