The Walcote Practice is strongly committed to listening to patients and acting on their feedback. We also focus on attaining the highest standards practice-wide and on providing the best healthcare and customer service to patients

Patient Comments & Suggestions: During a recent patient survey, The Walcote Practice received several positive comments about the services provided, including:

“Excellent practice – always given an appointment when urgent. Reception staff – always professional, cheerful and very helpful. Thank you for the excellent medical care.”

“Brilliant service provided, always get quick appointments and the care is outstanding.”

“The practice provides a much needed service in the area.”

However, one patient commented that staff could perhaps be more knowledgeable about the length of time between certain vaccinations. To further improve our service, the Lead GP and Practice Manager created a reference sheet to enable all staff to have such information to hand, right from a patient’s initial enquiry. We are also currently working on further improving the travel vaccination area of our website to include much of this information – watch this space!

Infection Control: Our latest audits of Infection Control practices at The Walcote Practice yielded very positive results of above 97%. The small issues detected have been addressed, ie replacing slightly worn furniture. Patient and staff safety and protection is always our priority and these results encouragingly affirmed that our practices are sound.

Patient Access: In our most recent Patient Access Audit, patients unanimously found The Walcote Practice to be excellent in the areas of telephone access to the practice and to our private GPs, routine access, 48-hour availability, being seen at scheduled appointment times, home visits and the helpfulness of the team when booking appointments.

GDPR: Following the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in May 2018, The Walcote Practice has worked hard to ensure that we are adhering to all guidelines and requirements. We carried out a detailed audit 12 months after GDPR implementation. This showed our systems to be safe and robust.
